How to arrange a funeral wake
You can contact us to take care of your funeral arrangement.
Depending on your religion, the cost and rites of a funeral ceremonial can vary widely. A funeral
can be conducted in a simple manner or as elaborate in accordance to the wishes of the family. Below are some
points to consider.
1) Funeral Wake
. Decide on the location and duration of the wake. Examples of location are: Funeral parlour,
void deck or house. If you are holding the wake at the void deck, a permit from your town council is needed. If it
is in your landed property and a part of the road outside is used, a permit from the LTA is neded.
note: if the wake is more than 7 days after death, a written permission has to be sought from the National
Enviroment Agency.

2) Burial or Cremation
Booking can be done via phone or relevent booking offices. The following documents are needed.
1. NRIC of applicant
2. Original death cerfiticate - which contins the permit to bury/cremate.
note: for cremation, any valuables placed within the coffin is not recoverable after high heat cremation.
3) Placing an Obitury
To place an obituary, you can see a list of newspaper to contact here.
4) Storage of ashes
The ashes of the deceased can be stored at home or in a columbarium. You can find details of government-managed
columbaria and other private columbaria here.
5) Scattering of Ashes at Sea
Scattering of ashes can be carried out at the designated site located at the south of Pulau Semakau. The
time where scattering of ashes can be done are from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. For more
